How It Works:

Using "signup genius", sign up for your child(rens) classroom. The sheet is organized by grade. It will ask for your name, e-mail address and phone number. By signing up you are committing to help with the Art Sparks program in that classroom. The program runs from November to April (6 lessons in total)

2. Attend Informational/Orientation Night

In the Cottage Grove Elementary Media Center

 

Attend an informational/orientation presentation. This meeting will cover the logistics of the program along with presentation help and tips.

3. Correspond with your volunteer group and teacher

Once the volunteers for each classroom are formed, a group e-mail will be sent to all signed up parties. The group will need to decide on a primary person, someone who is willing to commit to facilitating each monthly project/presentation. The other members will act as helpers and/or the primary person if the designated primary person is unable to attend. Your group will then correspond with the classroom teacher to set up the best dates and times for each month.  

Once your volunteer group has corresponded with the classroom teacher, use the online calendar to sign up for materials. The materials are used for each classroom, so two classrooms can not have the same time slot.

5. Receive and Review that Month's project

The project is sent via an e-mail. Review the materials and project for the coming month. If you have questions or concerns contact cgeartsparks@gmail.com or your volunteer group

6. Present and Create!

  1. Sign in at the front office

  2. Pick up materials from the Art Sparks cabinet in the media center

  3. Go to the classroom and have a great time teaching the lesson

  4. Return the materials to the Art Sparks cabinet

  5. Sign out at the front office

  6. Carry on knowing you have made a positive impact in student's lives!
